After a weekend off for The Shaymen, FC Halifax Town make the long journey to Torquay on Tuesday as they look to make three wins in as many matches following a 1-0 home win against Forest Green.
Neil Aspin appears to have no new injury worries’ going into Tuesday night’s game as the Shaymen look to get themselves back into the play off places. However he will be missing Matt Pearson who completes a three match ban.
Whereas Torquay, who did play at the weekend, will be looking to put Saturdays home defeat to Barnet behind them and bounce back with a win. Three points for the Gulls will see them leapfrog Town and put them back in the play-off frame. Whereas Town could go back into the play off places if results go their way and they manage to come away from Plainmoor with three points.
FC Halifax Town – 6th
Torquay United – 10th
FC Halifax Town – WWLLLD
Torquay United – LDWLDD
Both sides’ current form is quite mixed, not so long ago the Shaymen went through a tough spell, but recently they have bounced with back to back home wins against Alfreton and Forest Green. The two wins have seen the Shaymen climb back up the table and into 6th place on the edge of the play off places. In contrast, the Gulls have seen themselves slide down the table into 10th place, United have only won once in their last six games and twice in the last 10 but a win will get them back in the hunt for a play-off place.
Key Players – Ryan Bowman and Louis Briscoe
Two summer signings Ryan Bowman and Louis Briscoe have proven to be stand out performers so far this season with Bowman grabbing eight league goals and Briscoe with six. Bowman now 23, many will remember him from his time at Darlington, Herford and most recently York. The young striker finished Hereford’s top goal scorer in the 2012-13 season with 19 goals. The other danger man Louis Briscoe made his name at Mansfield Town where he featured regularly for five years and achieving promotion from the conference in 2013. He made over 200 appearences and scoring 40 goals. Briscoe is known as a tricky winger that likes to run at players and get the ball into the box but also is known to cut inside and go for goal himself.
